TRIP opened holiday's trainings on sexual and reproductive health for adolescents in rural areas.

On 27th July 2022, TRIP Coordinator opened holiday's trainings on sexual and reproductive health for adolescents in KABUSHINGE Cell/ RWAZA Sector through "TWONGERE UBUMENYI PROJECT". TRIP stakeholders and their teenage children were invited. One main objectives of TRIP was to train rural areas including youth to empower them a better future for rural areas in general.

Topics for the first session about reproductive health were:

  1. Meaning of sexual and reproductive health.
  2. The importance of trainings on sexual and reproductive health for adolescents.
  3. The importance of dialogue between adolescents and their parents on sexual and reproductive health.
  4. The meaning of "adolescence", and physical, psychological and behavioral changes that occur within this period.
  5. Causes, effects and prevention of teenage pregnancy.
At the end of the presentation, the trainees got the opportunity to ask questions related to the topics.

Sanitary pads were given to the female teenagers who attended the training in order to maintain the hygiene during their menstruation.

Before the closing of the session, all parents and children still showed interest and curiosity of true information about the subject. They decided that the latter would attend the trainings weekly and parents would dare to approach their children to talk about sexual and reproductive health.
